A Brass Draper's Yard Rule by James Chesterman & Co

1920 - 1940
Description

A James Chesterman & Co., Sheffield, brass draper's or haberdasher's yard rule. Unusually the rule is stamped with a weights and measures mark for 'ER 1937', which dates it fairly precisely at being manufactured in early 1937. Edward VIII abdicated in December 1936 and George VI was crowned in May 1937, as a result weights and measures items were using the ER stamp.
