Description

Superb mid 19thC earthenware blue and white tureen by Middlesbrough Pottery (active 1834-44) decorated with the Wild Rose pattern. Lion mask handles and lion knop on lid. The lid and both long sides of the tureen are decorated with a country scene, boatmen on a lake, with bridge, thatched dwelling nearby and a larger house in the distance. Excellent condition.

Dimensions are maximum - mask to mask, and knop to base.
