Corvidae Antique has dated this piece to the 1950s.

The piece bears an official national mark used in Italy between the years 1944 and 1968 and revealing the origin of the brooch to be Alessandria in the Italian Piedmont region. Also stamped 750 (18-carat gold) and bearing the maker's number 784. The story continues as there is an English import mark showing a subsequent journey to the UK.

Condition: There is a small dent on the green horse's rump (see photo). Otherwise the piece is in very good antique condition, the enamel appears free of chips and cracks though has worn from the brown horse's nose and slightly along the edges of the tiny hooves. None of these flaws is sufficient to detract from the beauty of the piece when worn.
Secures with a locking rollover clasp.
