C1900 Oriental Hardwood Hexagonal Planter with Inlaid Scenes

Description

An interesting Oriental, probably Japanese, hexagonal hardwood planter, the six panels inlaid with white metal scenes - 2 female figures, 2 sailing vessels, and 2 oriental buildings - each with further connecting copper inlaid stringing detail (eg the rigging of the sailing vessels) and further copper inlaid stringing approx 1cm inside the edge of each panel framing each image.

Max width at top between corners 33cm. Width at centre top of panels 28.5cm.
