Antique Metalware 18thc Brass Cooking Salamander. Dutch C1700-20.

An early 18thc brass cooking Salamander, used in the kitchen to brown or toast food....the head of the Salamander was put into the open fire and heated until red hot and then held over the food....this one has a finely turned finial and is in excellent condition.
