Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Featuring carved top rails with turned twin pilaster supports and “lightening” shaped vertical slats and standing on carved cabriole legs. It comes complete with a Vono sprung base which makes a very solid bed. With Good warm patina and colour to the frame. The base unscrews from the headboard and footboard for transport and it comes provided with a vono spanner. You can easily add wooden slats across the top of the springs if you require a firmer base. (no mattress or bedding included)

Very solid and sturdy. Original patina and good colour. Some marks to the legs where the vono brackets have been replaced at some point. Other wear and marks commensurate with age.
