Minton Cloisonne Ware Christopher Dresser Vase C1870

Description

This gorgeous MINTON CLOISONNE WARE VASE, the design of which is attributed to Dr. Christopher Dresser, dates from circa 1870. The turquoise ground is beautiful as is the enamel decoration of the flying cranes.

It is fully marked to the base.

The VASE is in good condition with no chips or restoration. I have taken a close-up of an area around one crane's head, There is a short horizontal line at the back of the head and just below his chin which I believe to be crazing as it does not go through to the inside or through the enamel on the crane's neck.

An excellent addition to a collection.
