Charming Small Mahogany Cased Longcase Clock with 8 Day Bell Striking British Movement.

Checked, Oiled and Tested to be in Good and Full Antique Working Condition.

Being only 77.5in or 197cm High it should fit into most homes. The Silvered Chapter Ring is Engraved "Robert Robins" - The only UK place with Robin in the name is Robin Hood Bay and I cannot find a Robert working locally. So, I am wondering whether this clock was made as a "Marriage Clock" (between the Robert and Robins Families - 2 Urns either side of a Chalice Cup). Similarly, I have not found a Clockmaker with the exact name of Robert Robins. (possible misspelt similar names). It is therefore difficult to give an exact date. The style of the case with the Hood Columns attached to the Hood Door, 10in Dial with 6in Cherub Spandrels, the pillar shapes and Mahogany Case indicate 1730 onwards to 1800.
