French Lyre Shaped Mahogany Barometer

19th century
Description

An early Victorian period French mercury wheel barometer. A stylish lyre shaped mahogany case with a carved pediment. A long thermometer scale indistinctly marked 'Cheulet a Haute'. The original recessed red alcohol thermometer. A tapered and domed base section. A later Victorian silvered dial which is well engraved with a blued steel pointer. Circa 1840.
