Pair of Brass Inlaid Side Chairs C.1870.

Description

Spectacular pair of mid 19th.c. French brass inlaid rosewood side chairs c.1870. Well figured rosewood frames with shaped cresting rail and pierced back brace over a padded seat and shaped apron raised on cabriole legs front and rear. Extensive and elaborate original floral pattern brass inlays across the front and sides. Continued on the legs which also feature unusual brass mounts to the feet. Some minor missing portions of inlay, also missing one of the rear feet mounts on one chair. Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops and freshly upholstered in a black velvet chenille.
