Georgian Miniaturist's Paint Colours C1830

Description

This little leather-covered Box holds three of the original twelve of 'MR. HARDING'S COLOURS'.

Their use is fully described in 'The Elements of Painting in Water-colours' by Henry Harrison, published in 1833, under the chapter 'Miniature Painting'.

The three unused tablets are Dark Complexion, Carnation and Auburn.

Quite a rare find.
