Description

An early Victorian mercury wheel barometer. A mahogany case with a swan neck pediment and original brass finial. Banded case edging. Well silvered dials an a convex mirror. The level is engraved 'A VANINI SHEFFIELD'. Circa 1845.

A Vanini of Sheffield is recorded in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1840.
