This Walnut 1920’s pedestal desk is in the Georgian style and was retailed by Harrods or another top retailer of the day.

It was painstakingly made to replicate a Georgian example. The edge mouldings made in sections exactly how the cabinetmakers in the 18thc. would have done so. It was a time consuming and more expensive way of making this and points to this originally being a prestige desk where the cost was not the first consideration.

As would be expected this walnut desk is finished all around and so can be put in the centre of a room if required, it is also made in the 3 parts which allows you to move this easily around the home or office.

The desk is in walnut and has herringbone banding around the drawer edges as well as on the back panels.

It is very rare to have the pair of drawers above the kneehole; you have 4 drawers along the top and 3 further graduated drawers in each pedestal each side of the kneehole with each drawer fitted the original brass plate handles.
