Antique 9ct Rose Gold Padlock Curb Chain Bracelet

Description

A lovely example of an antique gold curb chain bracelet secured with a heart-shaped padlock, often used as a charm bracelet. The piece is rendered in nine-carat rose gold of the beautiful soft rosy colour which you just don't get with modern jewellery.

The links are hollow, as was the norm with this type of bracelet dating from around 1900, and alternately plain and decorated with a textured design. Traditionally the late Victorians/early Edwardians liked to wear "night and day" bracelets, plain on one side and with engraving on the other for two different looks.

Marked 9CT and W&HS on the padlock. Also marked 9 on each individual link, although many of the stamps are worn.

In very good antique condition. Missing its original safety chain but the padlock snaps shut securely.

Length: Approx 7 and three quarter inches (20cm).

Width: 8mm.

Padlock size: 1.3 x 2.0cm.

Weight: 11.0g. Nice and easy to wear.
