This is an 18th Chinese porcelain mug dating from the rule of Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795). It is hand painted with enamels in the famille rose palette. It has a large and colurful central pictorial reserve depicting seven figures and two dogs. There is a smaller pictorial reserve around the handle depicting birds amongst foliage. The rest of the exterior of the mug is painted with designs in cobalt blue, and also repeating red designs picked out with gilding. The handle has two applied heart motifs. There are two restored chips and some other chips to the rim of the mug. Emanating from one of the restored chips is a hairline crack. The handle has been restored at two points near where it meets the body of the mug.All items come with free shipping throughout the UK.
