A most wonderful Highly Engraved Gilt Miniature English Fusee Carriage Clock c1870.
The mercurial gilt case is profusely engraved with floral scrollwork and has been completed to a very high standard. The case parts fit perfectly including the door and tiny sliding latch. Although the carriage clock is very much a French affair, these rare English carriage clocks were made to order for very wealthy clients and the standard of clock making is second to none.
The miniature single fusee movement has six tiny knopped pillars and a fully jewelled English lever escapement. The gilt movement has been fully overhauled and very carefully polished using the finest chalk to give a finish that has to be seen to be appreciated. This clock comes with a full three years guarantee for your peace of mind
