French Louis Xiv Style Boulle Mantel Clock

Description

An excellent quality French Louis XIV style boulle red tortoise shell and engraved brass inlaid mantel clock with ormolu mounts and moulds . The clock has a decorative gilt brass dial with white enamel numerals and a French eight day movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with outside countwheel.

The movement back plate is stamped with the retailers name:-

Carlhian & Beaumetz

Anatole Carlhian and his brother-in-law Albert Dujardin-Beaumetz established an export commission business in 1867 in Paris. They became leading Parisian based interior designers specialising in 18th Century style.

The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
