Description

This fabulous and very unusual Edwardian silver mounted Art Glass scent bottle bears the marks of the renowned Mappin & Webb and is dated London 1901. The cylindrical glass body imitating tortoiseshell. The neck fitted with a very decorative embossed silver hinged lid made by Mappin & Webb and dated London 1901. The inner lid with rich gilt wash.

The neck fitted with the original - and rather splendid - glass stopper.

Hallmarks:

Mn & Wb for Mappin & Webb.

London Assay Mark.

Lion Passant .

Date letter "f" for 1901.

Dimensions:

Height: 10 cm - 4 inches.

Diameter: 5cm / 2 inches.

Condition:

Excellent
