A superb quality early 19th Century Chinese black lacquered hardstone inlaid cabinet in fantastic condition, profusely decorated all over this really is a magnificent piece, having an open top with a shaped frieze, the back having floral gilt decoration with a Chinese scene at the centre incorporating various figures, having a pair of cupboard doors below opening to reveal the inside lacquered in red with a fixed single shelf, the front of the cabinet having closone hinges, lock plate and feet, with circular panels at the top and oblong ones below depicting various Chinese scenes, the frame of the cabinet decorated with gilt and mother of pearl, the sides of the cabinet are in keeping with the same format as the front, the top having floral gilt decoration, with a shaped apron below at the sides and front raised on square feet. A lovely example of an early 19th Century Chinese cabinet. Circa 1820.
