Description

Chamberlains Worcester porcelain pen tray, c. 1820. Painted to the centre, with a titled view of ‘Claremont’, Esher, Surrey. The Palladian mansion, set in grounds designed by ‘Capability’ Brown, and showing a carriage and horses drawing up to the front of the house. Within gilt borders and a pale yellow ground. The exterior, similarly decorated, above a moulded gadrooned base.

Titled ‘Claremont’, factory mark, and London retail address in red script to the base.

Length - 21 cm, 8 1/4”.

Height - 3 cm, 1 1/4”.

Depth - 4.8 cm, 1 7/8”.

Condition - Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
