Unusual Smart Antique Sterling Silver Lidded Cut Glass Jar - 1908

Description

A very smart tall jar or bottle hand cut at intervals around the circumference of the glass ... an unusual design, the glass is thick and chunky, very tactile.

The lid too is rather different, being hinged rather than the normal pull-off type, the interior also being gilded. The silver is hallmarked for London 1908, an Edwardian example. The makers mark WAE is also present.

The top of the lid has an elegant engraved line design and a central circular cartouche which could be personalised with initials if desired.

Excellent condition, measuring 3 3/4" tall, with the lid measuring 2" x 1 1/2".
