Good Quality Victorian Copper Coal Scuttle - Helmet Shape - with Makers Mark for Benham & Froude Constructed in the traditional manner with brass stitching at the rear. Good original rivets and smoothly moving handle. Heavy gauge copper . Unusually, it has a makers mark on base for Benham & Froude .(Their trade mark logo was inspired by the cross / orb that they had made for the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral, London ) A good quality helmet of good size. Approx. weight 3.5 kg In generally good condition with normal age related wear. Hasn't been cleaned for a while.
