Georgian Oak & Mahogany Crossbanded Chest on Chest C.1800.

Description

Beautiful example of the classic late Georgian oak chest on chest c.1800. Nicely proportioned, being a little smaller than many we see but affording lots of useful storage. In two sections with two small drawers over five long drawers of graduated depth. Oak drawer fronts with mahogany crossbanding and cockbeaded edges. Very unusually each drawer retains its original brass handles with elaborately pierced backplates and escutcheons. Crisp ogee cornice, thumb moulded waist and base mouldings and tall bracket feet front and rear. Solid oak sides and drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
