A beautiful original antique French Boudoir Table Clock. It is well modelled in the Classical Louis XVI style in gilt brass. it is architectural in shape with a blind fretted panel below the dial and an urn to the top.
A further cartouche in the centre is signed by the retailer. it is complete with original blued steel hands. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen if the clock were displayed on a table for example.

The French movement is of high quality and has the Paris makers mark of Barrard & Vignon on the movement backplate.
Tardy lists the Parisian horlogers, Barrard et Vignon, as operating from rue Neuve Ménilmontant in 1860, and later from rue Commines (see Tardy, Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français, p. 31).

It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some wear to the original gilding. The dial is also in excellent condition with just some very slight chipping around the winding holes. The rear glass has some light scratches.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
