Description

Bearing the mark of H. MITCHELL, Glass, China, Earthenware Warehouse, No 29, Castle St., Swansea, this porcelain CUP & SAUCER, with gilt embellishments, dates from circa 1860.

The CUP is decorated with scenes entitled 'WELSH COSTUMES' showing women wearing National Dress. The SAUCER, is decorated with a charming scene entitled 'THE BIDDING Welsh Costumes No 6', and shows a lively crowd at an Auction proudly displaying their purchases.

The CUP & SAUCER are in good condition. There are no cracks or restoration.

Diameter of Saucer: 14.5 cm
