The chair is of the most lively shapes with well-patinated surfaces being either carved or turned. It is as if the chair was carved around the sitter who commissioned the chair. The bifurcated cabriole legs terminate to a scroll and are connected by a detailed carved and wavy stretcher. Similarly, the shapely arms and cresting rail are also carved and tipped with scrolls. The bell-shaped frame accepts the shaped drop-in seat which is covered in a lovely needlepoint fabric depicting a mythical creature to the centre surrounded by scrolling foliage.
