George I Figured Walnut Card Table

18th century
Description

Good George I figured walnut card table of neat proportions, the foldover top with projecting corners in well figured book matched veneers having herringbone inlay and crossbanding. The interior with a baize lined playing surface. The inverted frieze with slender moulded corners raised on shapely cabriole legs. Behind the rear leg there is the unusual feature of a conceiled card drawer being oak lined and with a brass knob handle. Excellent colour and good patination.
