Elegant Art Deco Silver and Malachite Cigarette Case by P.h. Vogel & Co , Birmingham 1934

1920 - 1940
Description

This exquisite and very stylish engine-turned silver cigarette case is very reminiscent of the Art Deco era. The front and back with fine engine-turned decorations. The side fitted with an unusual and gorgeous hinged clasp with green malachite cabochon inset. Gilt interior complete with the original elastic band for holding in the cigarettes. Inner case hallmarked on both sides.

P.H.V for P H Vogel & Co.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "K" for 1934.

Silver Jubilee Mark.

Dimensions:

8.5cm x 7cm / 3.4 inches x 2.6 inches.

Condition:

Excellent.

No dings or dents.

Strong hinge.

Good set of marks.
