Description

Fabulous late 19th.c. combination wardrobe and linen press c.1880. Bow fronted centre fitted with three sliding shelves over a chest of two short and three long drawers of graduated depth. Flanked on each side with full length dressing mirrors, fitted inside with brass rails for hanging plus a single shelf to each. Exceptional quality cabinet making with remarkable figured walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the front and sides. Fine carved panels to the centre doors featuring Classical grotesque, urn and acanthus motifs within moulded surrounds. Moulded cornice, raised and fielded drawer fronts, original bevelled mirror plates and retaining the original heavy brass handles, locks and latches throughout. Mahogany groundwork, drawer linings and backboards. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Splits into three sections plus cornice and plinth for ease of delivery.
