Description

A fine and rare Wedgwood pottery foot bath, c. 1820. The foot bath moulded with bands, and printed in underglaze blue with views of the Tower of London and Traitors Gate, from the River Thames, beneath a Wild Rose border. Having twin handles, above further prints of figures in Georgian costume, walking in a rural setting, before ruined buildings.

The interior, with further prints of the Thames, surrounding a large print of a ship sailing along a river, before a ruined castle.

Impressed upper case ‘WEDGWOOD’ mark to the base.

Length - 45 cm, 17 3/4”.

Height - 22.3 cm, 8 3/4”.

Width - 32 cm, 12 5/8”.

Condition - Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
