German Schierholz Porcelain Cherub Table Lamp

19th century
Description

A lovely quality, large Schierholz (German / Thuringian) porcelain cherub lamp, in the form of cupid with a quiver of arrows tied at his waist, upholding a single sconce with brass bulb fitting and parchment covered shade, raised on a flower encrusted base, hand painted in colours and enriched in gilt.

A very nice quality piece, the Schierholz mark to the base was used between 1865 - 1907. In good overall condition, with some old restoration to one wing and lacking little finger on the left hand.

52cm high including brass bulb fitting. Wired and PAT tested.
