A pair of late Victorian, tall, gilded fire dogs in good condition.

They measure 56cm in height, 32cm in width and have a depth of approximately 21.5cm, and they are very heavy with each one weighing approximately 4.7kgs.

They have an armorial look to them with the pair of lions at the base and a shield, daggers and swords at the top, and they have been very well cast.

The iron support is original, and it is possible the items were re-gilded some years ago as they look fresh and untarnished for their age.
