French Belle Epoque Mahogany Mantel Clock by Drocourt

1900 - 1920
Description

A very good quality French Belle Epoque figured mahogany lancet top mantel clock with boxwood string inlay and satinwood and sycamore inlaid design to the front of the case with brass carrying handles to the sides stood on brass bun feet.. The clock has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals and French eight day movement with lever platform escapement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.

The clock movement back plate is stamped with the makers name:-

D.C & Co

Pierre Drocourt (D.C & Co) was born in 1819 and established the clock movement making business in Paris in 1853. His son Alfred was born in 1847 and took over the family business in 1872. Drocourt were well known for making high quality movements winning themselves awards through the mid to late Victorian era.

The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
