Omega Speedmaster Cal 321 C1965  reference 105.003.65 Known as the “Ed White”

1940 - 1960
Description

This is an absolutely stunning example of the legendary calibre 321 Omega Speedmaster the exact same model and specification that was worn by Astronaut Ed White on the very first spacewalk and the last Omega worn on the moon by Gene Cernan.

It was used by the majority of the Gemini and Apollo Astronauts such as Ed White, Jim Lovell, Neil Armstrong, Gene Cernan and many others.

It's had a recent sympathetic restoration and looks stunning.

It has a superb condition 105-003-65 non crown guard case with the Speedmaster logo to the back, the lug width is 19mm and the case has been polished and regrained. The glass is also new and perfect.

The original stepped edge Pre Pro dial correctly lacking the word professional and has the raised silver Omega logo. It has been relumed and the hands have been repainted and relumed to match.

The pushers are new and work perfectly.

The crown is original with the early flat footed symbol.

The bezel is original and in super condition with the correct dot over ninety and accent over the "Tacymetre"

The bracelet is the correct number 1039 flat link design and amazingly is still full length making the watch a full 8 inches. The stretch comfort links are fully functional. The end links are number 516 The bracelet is one of the best we have ever seen.

The hand winding cal 321 movement is an absolute gem, sparkling clean and in like new condition. It has just undergone a full professional overhaul and all chronograph functions work perfectly, this is a movement from the golden age of Swiss watchmaking and is considered to be far superior to all later Speedmaster movements. The movement is running at plus 2 seconds per day and has a running amplitude of 330 degrees, all functions work perfectly and the flyback is instant and crisp.

It has its original inner and outer boxes.

This is the most desirable version of the Omega Speedmaster, you could say it's the E Type Jaguar of all Vintage watches.

The cal 321 Speedmaster is a legend in the world of space exploration and will only increase in value.
