This Asian parquetry silk robe chest was made in the 1880’s and would have been used by a wealthy family to store their precious and valuable silk robes.

The front back sides and top are covered in fine parquetry made of various oriental exotic woods.

It has decorative brass fittings, hinges and lock plates. To each end is a brass carrying handle.

The top has a half width lid that opens on hinges to reveal the full storage inside.
