A Flamed Mahogany Early Victorian Period Secretaire Bookcase

Description

A flamed mahogany Early Victorian Period secretaire bookcase. Having an upper bookcase section veneered in beautifully flamed mahogany throughout with a flared cornice and applied corbels with anthemion detail. The twin glazed doors open to reveal four adjustable shelves (three shown). The lower section with a polished mahogany top above the fall front secretaire enclosing a birds eye maple fitted interior with a baize writing surface. The drawer front and lower panelled doors having matched flamed mahogany veneers with further applied corbels and having an internal fixed shelf. The whole supported on a mahogany veneered plinth. English circa 1850-1860

Dimensions: 89" high x 48" wide x 23" deep

Condition: This bookcase is in superb original condition, cleaned and waxed
