Description

Good example of the classic late Georgian oak writing bureau c.1790. Open the fall to reveal a good sized writing surface (plenty of room for a laptop) and original fitted interior with pigeon holes, eight small stationery drawers and a central cupboard, plus small hidden guinea slide. Over four long drawers of graduated depth. Period replacement brass handles, the escutcheon plates are probably original. Raised on shaped bracket feet front and rear. Solid oak top, fall, drawer fronts and sides, the interior is also in oak. Some obvious wear and replacement hinges. Otherwise very good condition and particularly good colour, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
