Description

A fine and unusual pair of antique gold cufflinks; each comprises a very tactile little smooth rounded torpedo and a puffy heart connected by a five-link chain at the back. This chain-linked torpedo style was popular throughout the Victorian age into the Art Deco era but this is the first pair we've seen in a desirable heart design.

Each cufflink is crafted in solid nine-carat gold which is the beautiful soft slightly rosy colour you just don't get with modern jewellery. There is a gold fineness mark on the back of each heart but it is too worn to be legible.

In very good antique condition. The gold colour on the back of the hearts and on the chains is a little uneven, more yellow gold in places, but this is imperceptible when the cufflinks are worn, they look beautiful on.

Size: Each torpedo measures 2 x 0.5cm, the hearts 1.1cm wide by 1.2cm tall. The chain is 2cm long.

Weight: 4.8g.
