Description

A beautiful Art Nouveau necklace in silver with the prettiest decorative guilloche enamel in duck-egg blue. The pale turquoise colour is perfectly complemented by majestic purple amethysts. Likely European and dating from c.1910, this remains a very wearable piece.

In excellent antique condition. The enamel is intact, the amethysts show little sign of surface wear and the slim cylindrical push clasp is in good working order. We have cleaned the necklace up a little but we don't like to overpolish as many people prefer the slight patina which has taken the piece more than a century to acquire.

Marked 800 next to the clasp. 800 grade was the silver standard across most of Europe at the time (Edwardian period in England).
