Victorian Sterling Silver Sautoir Guard Chain with Albert Clip

Description

Dating from the mid- to late-Victorian period, this is a particularly substantial sterling silver guard chain. Can be worn on its own or as a sautoir necklace with a pocket watch, locket or pendant hung from the Albert swivel dog clip at one end.

Hallmarks are very worn but the lion passant denoting sterling silver can be made out.

In excellent antique condition, with fully functional clip. Please note the cross pendant pictured is available separately and not included in this listing.

Length: 60 inches, not including clip.

Width: 0.5cm.

Weight: 125g.
