Condition Report:
This antique oak coffer / blanket box is in excellent clean condition, considering its age. The coffer has been wax-polished, to a professional standard in our workshop. Nominal old marks to the top and leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Such old use marks are inevitable and perfectly acceptable due to its age and use it would have received. The interior is clean, dry, and usable. The coffer retains its original lid, floor, sides and back. The coffer also retains its loop hinges. The coffer also incorporates a working steel clasp, lock, with working key. The coffer stands on extended stiles (feet) and the carvings to the front rail, panels & stiles are original (not later). The coffer is solid in joint; it does not wobble on the floor and is ready to use. Considering the age of this coffer, it is in excellent condition. It is rare to find a coffer of this period in such clean condition.
