Antique Military Prismatic Monocular

1900 - 1920
Description

Good example of an original antique military issue Monocular in its original leather case. It has an extendable eyepiece tube for focussing and is marked with the military crows foot. The body is covered in black leather and the metal parts are finished in a black paint.

The monocular is in good condition for its age. It produces a clear image that is easy to focus and the lenses are generally clean. There are two small scratches on the end lens and some general signs of age and use and minor knocks, surface marks and small areas of paint loss around the body but nothing untoward. It has been lightly cleaned and displays very nicely.

It comes in its original protective leather case complete with shoulder strap and buckle. The end is stamped "Case No.1 or 1A Prismatic Monocular (MkI). Timbers. 1925." and is also marked with the military crows foot. It is in good condition with some signs of age and use but no major damages.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask. UK Delivery £8

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
