Separately are an 18 karat coral set filigree pair of studs with a rope edge that attach to the drops, these are a later addition. The studs may also be worn separately. Coral was widely used by the Victorians in jewelry making, it was regarded as talismanic beneficial in warding off evil spirits. Coral was widely associated with childrens’ artefacts and for that reason baby rattles were set with this stone.
This style of earring is rare to find in this condition with some mild patina and organic markings. They are a pleasing light pinkish red and hang beautifully from the ear. Please see images.
