A beautiful pair of Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vases by Hozan, of baluster form with a cobalt blue ground and large cartouches front and back depicting Japanese daily life, including woman & children carrying nuh masks and a young boy playing on a hobby horse. The vases are finished with intricate gilt border work with turquoise highlights and a decorative border around the rim & base, marked on the underside they are in excellent condition standing 12 ¼ inches tall.
