Arts & Crafts 3 Handled Quaiche Chester 1918

A stunning, heavy gauge silver Quaiche. The style is archetypal Arts and Crafts, with a subtly hammered deep silver bowl sitting on one circular foot. The three handles are unusually shaped, further enhancing the Arts and Crafts character of this piece.
 
Hallmarks are visible on one side for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1918 and Lion Passant. The silver maker''s mark is also clear: Jay Richard Attenborough Co Ltd. The base is stamped ''Jays, 142 & 144 Oxford St. W.
 
This item is perfectly proportioned and feels a good solid heavy weight when held in the hand.
 
A wonderful example of Arts & Crafts silverware.
