Victorian Mahogany Desk Chair

19th century
Description

Victorian mahogany desk chair

This Victorian mahogany desk chair was made circa 1875 in one of the best London workshops.

This stunning chair has been totally restored and reupholstered by our experienced and specialist team.

The solid mahogany frame has fine carving along the top rail as well as the arms.

The chair stands on well-turned mahogany front legs with splay legs to the rear.

The back, seat, and armrests are upholstered in fine grade leather that has been hand dyed and then finished with our antique finish, you would think the leather has been on the chair all its life. This is a very skilled job, with each of the hundreds of brass capped studs having to be tapped in individually, not only requiring patience but a lot of skill as well.

Imagine how good this Victorian mahogany desk chair will look in your study or office, attracting many admiring glances and positive comments.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
