Gilt pierced hands and a rarer feature of a date aperture above the 6. A silver repousse outer case in fine condition marked 'Mauris Fecit'.

John May of London was a Dutchman by birth and free of the Clockmakers Company in 1692/3. He is recorded as working in Loomes 'The Early Clockmakers of Great Britain' as working until 1702.
