Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
There is a central cartouche on the lid, which could be personalised if desired.
There is a brass push button to the front which releases the lid to reveal the three concave compartments for easy retrieval of the postage stamps.
Both parts (top & bottom) are hallmarked for London 1905, making this a true Edwardian desk-top piece. The makers mark is also clear for the famed silversmith, Mappin & Webb.
Superb condition, measuring 4 1/2" x 3" x 1 1/4" tall.
