Victorian Card Case – Chester 1894

Description

A fabulously decorated VICTORIAN SILVER CARD CASE made by the well-known and sought after silversmiths, Colen Hewer Cheshire and assayed in Chester in 1894.

Of oblong form with an all over geometric and floral pattern to the both sides with a central bordered blank cartouche to the front. Inside, this fabulous Card Case retains the original burgundy lining and dividers for your cards.

The Card Case has no added engravings, monograms or initials, the catch closes tightly, is of a size that can still be used with today's business / credit cards etc. and whilst there is a few signs of wear this lovely piece is in very good condition despite being over 125 years old.

This is a real collector's item which would complement any collection.

Condition:

Used / Very Good

There are no repairs.

One or two dinks to case.

Some staining to the internal lining.

Dimensions:

Length – 3.75” (95mm) / Width – 2.5” (63mm)

Weight – 81.7gm / 2.63 ozt
