19th Century French Silver Gilt Sewing Kit, Paris Circa 1890

Description

This is a fabulous and complete French ivory and silver gilt sewing necessaire. The oval-shaped ivory case opening to reveal a fitted recessed interior containing gilded silver sewing implements including retractable pencil, scissors, needle case, thimble, stiletto and bodkin. the hinged cover applied with a silver gilt initialed cartouche.

The base with an ivory button latch release.

The sewing implements with French silver guarantee mark.

The silver gilt hinged marked "BREVETE SGDG".

Complete with all original sewing tools.

Condition:

Very good.

All silver gilt tools in excellent condition.

Case in very good glossy condition.

The cover clasps shut nicely.

Dimensions:

Length: 11cm / 4.2 inches.

Width: 6cm / 2.4 inches.
